I’m having issues with “Order feed items by – date reverse”. I combine a few rss feeds and I just noticed that posts start at wrong date. I have 23 posts in the feeds right now and the dates are:

    2024-01-17
    2024-01-18
    2024-01-20
    2024-01-22
    2024-01-27
    2024-01-29
    2024-02-14
    2024-02-15
    2024-02-24
    2024-03-13
    2024-03-18
    2024-03-19
    2024-03-21
    2024-03-21
    2024-03-23
    2024-04-04
    2024-04-11
    2024-04-15
    2024-04-17
    2024-04-18
    2024-04-25
    2024-05-20

If I choose to select 5 and order feed items by date reverse I get posts 2024-04-15 – 2024-05-20. I want to select 2024-01-17 – 2024-01-27 and order them by date reverse so that they are ordered oldest to newest (I’m using the feed widget to show a calendar.) This works for shortcode but not for the widget. How can I fix this? I have Pro version 5.0.

    Hi Nina,

Thanks for using the PRO version.

Both the shortcode and widget use the same feed parsing and sorting logic.
    There shouldn’t be any difference.

Could you please share the RSS feed with me to reproduce the issue in my test setup?

    Thanks,
    Aakash

    Hi Nina,

I tried with my test RSS feed and I see some abnormality. I’ll check further and update.

    Hi Nina,

From the code it looks like an intentional behavior.
I have sent an email with some code changes to make to it to get as you expect.
Please follow the steps and get the desired output.

    Thanks,
    Aakash

Thank you Aakash, the code changes worked perfectly and now the ordering is correct. Can you incorporate the code in your plugin so I don’t have to change the code each time the plugin updates?

Thanks for confirming. This behavior is debatable. Some people might require the current implementation and some the other.

I might have to include new option to select between this I believe.
I have added this to my todo list anyways and I’ll make the changes after research.

    Thanks,
    Aakash
