On my server, running with php 8.4, when the plugin “Broken Link Checker” Version 2.4.6 By WPMU DEV is activated, all links to images in Super RSS are replaced with <img src=”//?#” …

    Hi Marcow,

Sorry for the late reply. Yes it is expected since Broken link checker plugin modifies the image URL. Can you please disable the option in BLC plugin and replace the image URL? Super RSS Reader plugin does not have any control on setting exceptions as this works site wide.

    Thanks,

thank you very much Aakash for this kind answer.
I searched the settings of Broken link checker, I could not find a setting / option to replace the image URL

    Hi Marcov,

In BRC plugin, settings –> Which Links To Check –> uncheck “HTML images”

    Hope this helps.

    thank you very much Aakash.
First, this is supposed to exclude all images from being checked at all.
Second, with this option unchecked, the superRSS thumbnails are immediately broken. When the Broken Link Checker is de-activated, all thumbnails appear back.

Conclusion, and this is not a caching issue, there is a conflict, and as I want both BLC and SuperRSS, I politely request that you kindly take a look into SuperRSS

    Hi Marcov,

BLC thinks that image URL inside the RSS feed is broken (or) is an external URL. So it replaces that with a dummy URL.

Super RSS reader displays the feed image URL as is. Hence it cannot stop BLC from stripping the image URL.

It is BLC which needs to set exclusion on the RSS feed image URL(s) based on the domain name or something. Can you please open the feed URL and check the image URL? is it valid? please share the feed URL if you are not able to find. I’ll check once.

There should be a reason why BLC is deleting those image URLs.

    Thanks,
    Aakash

In my first post I did report that the link to the image in superRSS is absent.

    Hi Marcov,

Yes that is because, BLC plugin is replacing the image URLs. It thinks that the feed image URLs are wrong/external/invalid.

Can you please share the RSS feed URL and your website URL?

    Thanks,
    Aakash
