We are receiving a warning that appears to come from Shortcoder:

[2025-04-25T01:46:20.690195+00:00] PHP Warning: Attempt to read property “description” on null in …/wp-content/plugins/shortcoder/includes/metadata.php on line 101

We have 11 shortcodes in Shortcoder. We are on version 6.5 of shortcoder, 6.7.2 of WordPress and WooCommerce 9.7.1.

Hi there,

Thanks for reporting this issue. I see this is a very new issue. Is this logged on all pages? are there any specific page which logs thsi error?

It seems the page has some missing data which could be unexpectedly malformed by the theme or another plugin.

Please let me know any idea on my query, I’ll suggest a change to handle this error.

Aakash,

I wish that I could give more details, but I am not sure what page is logging the error. We are getting a similar but different error when we take a copy of production to a staging environment:

[2025-04-28T14:31:37.903864+00:00] PHP Warning: Attempt to read property “post_type” on null in …/ppeotest/wp-content/plugins/shortcoder/admin/tools.php on line 115

I could give you access to our staging environment if you have a secure method for me to send you credentials.

This looks odd. The error log lines are from admin page.
