    Hi Aakash,

    I recently purchased Super RSS Reader Pro and I’m running into a major problem when using shortcodes inside Elementor containers on my site. I’m hoping you can take a look, because I’m still in the refund window and would like to resolve this before I finalize my setup.

    ISSUE SUMMARY

    1. Shortcodes are not rendering certain feeds (Google News & others)
    When I place a shortcode like this inside Elementor:

    [srr_feed
    urls=”https://news.google.com/rss/search?q=recovery+addiction”
    count=”1″
    show_title=”1″
    show_desc=”1″
    show_date=”1″
    show_thumb=”1″
    ]

    The output is completely blank, or sometimes triggers an error:

    RSS Error: Retrieved unsupported status code “404”

    Yet the exact same feed URL works fine in the Gutenberg widget version of Super RSS Reader Pro.

    2. After inserting certain shortcode combinations, Elementor Preview breaks
    Sometimes after inserting a shortcode, the Elementor editor stops loading or the front-end preview becomes a blank white page until I deactivate Super RSS Reader Pro entirely.
    This suggests something is breaking during shortcode rendering.

    3. The same shortcode works with other feeds (MakeUseOf RSS)
    When I use this feed:

    https://feeds.feedburner.com/Makeuseof

    — the shortcode works properly and displays normally.

    4. Google News feeds appear to cause the failure
    Google News feeds load correctly in:
    • The Gutenberg widget
    • The Activity page RSS block
    But fail only when rendered via shortcode.

    WHAT I NEED TO KNOW
    1. Does Super RSS Reader Pro fully support Google News RSS URLs when used through the shortcode renderer?
    2. Is there a known issue with Google News feeds returning redirected or partial XML responses that cause the shortcode handler to break?
    3. Is there a PHP memory limit, timeout, or user-agent restriction we should adjust?
    4. Is there a debug mode or logging option to see why the shortcode fails while the widget succeeds?
    5. Is there an updated shortcode syntax recommended for feeds that require redirects?
    6. If this is a limitation of the plugin, should I request a refund and look for a tool that better supports Google-style aggregated feeds?

    ATTACHMENTS
    I am including screenshots of:
    • Shortcode rendering blank inside Elementor
    • Error message
    • Widget rendering successfully
    • White-page preview after adding shortcode

    SITE ENVIRONMENT
    • WordPress: latest
    • Elementor Pro
    • BuddyBoss theme
    • PHP 8.x
    • Super RSS Reader Pro (current version)

    Final note
    I really like the plugin and want to keep it if we can resolve this, but at the moment the shortcode functionality is not usable with Google News or several other feeds. Any guidance or patches you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,
    Rob V.

    Hi Robert,

    Thanks for using Super RSS Reader and taking time in posting your issue.

    If you were using WordPress 6.9 and Super RSS Reader v5.3, then there was a compatibility mismatch and the issue was fixed in SRR V5.4.

    I would recommend install the latest version of the plugin.

    The plugin supports all valid RSS feeds.

    In below screenshot we can see Google news RSS feed being displayed.

    Have a nice day 🙂

    Thanks,
    Aakash
